Established in 1985, Sinclair Pratt Cameron, P.C. has contributed to the
community for over 23 years as a knowledgeable & experienced consulting
structural engineering firm. Our work has included multi-story offices,
warehouse and manufacturing facilities, medical and sports facilities,
large shopping centers, churches, schools, cofferdams, bulkheads,
parking garages, multi-family complexes, single family homes, and
stateside/overseas military facilities.
Location:
We presently call the Hilltop area of Virginia Beach our home. Our
office is less than 1/4 mile to I-264 at the First Colonial Road exit.
We are very convenient to shopping (Super K-Mart, Target, Office Max,
Office Depot, Stein Mart, Borders Book Store, Big Lots), restaurants (A.J.
Gators Sports Bar & Grill, Applebee's, No Frills Grill, El Azteca, The
Melting Pot, Chesapeake Bagel Bakery, The Baker's Crust, Panera Bread,
Pizza Hut, Schlotsky's, Cobalt Grille), almost restaurants (McDonalds,
Taco Bell, Wendy's, Subway, KFC, Dairy Queen, Burger King, Chick-fil-A), & other stuff (the YMCA, banks, bowling, surf shops, home improvement, etc.) with all of these within easy walking distance!

Available Positions:
Structural Engineers Professional Engineer
(P.E.)

Ideal candidate for this position will be a licensed professional engineer. (If licensed in a state other than Virginia, licensing in Virginia would be required after a minimum period of time.)

Candidate should have a minimum of 8 years structural experience in the building industry.

Thorough knowledge of construction documents, techniques, sequences & building codes.
-
Ability to conduct project management from inception through completion: proposal evaluation, fee estimation, preparation of construction documents to meet deadlines, specifications, markups/communication with CAD personnel, multi-discipline coordination, requests for information, checking/review of shop drawings, & issuing addenda.

Familiarity with structural software design & analysis programs (Ramsteel preferred) for design of superstructures, substructures, & foundations.

Perform on-site inspections of projects to include: inspection of damaged facilities, evaluation and/or meetings for ongoing projects & evaluation of existing structures for expansion.

Proven communication skills.

Strong problem solving skills.

Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Ability to work well with others & become part of a cohesive team.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Engineer In Training
(E.I.T.)

Ideal candidate for this position will be a registered engineer in training.

Candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience with construction documents, techniques, sequences & building codes.

AutoCAD Technicians
We are expanding & looking for CAD technicians. Qualifications are as follows:
-
Experience with AutoCAD 2004 or higher (we currently use v. 2009) with
the aptitude & ambition to learn to use advanced cad routines, methods, scripts,
etc..

Experience with Revit a huge plus since we are
beginning the process of transitioning to Revit Structure!

Ability to work well with others.
-
Ability to work independently with minimal direction to start a project.

Knowledge of construction methods is a plus: concrete, masonry, steel & timber
construction methods.

Knowledge of construction documents.
-
Coordination of plan drawings with sections & details.
-
Good organizational skills & ability to prioritize workload.
-
Ability to interface & effectively coordinate with clients when
necessary.
